What happens if you’ve booked in advance and the weather is really dreadful?

Short answer: Don’t worry – we can change it, cancel it or rebook it.

Long answer: If you’ve booked to go out on the water, there are a few things it’s reassuring to know:

1) if the weather is foul and we don’t think it’s safe for you to go out, we will cancel and offer you a choice of full refund or rebook you to another day

2) if the weather isn’t suitable for your booked activity but a different activity would be ok, we’ll offer you the choice of switching, as long as we have availability for the alternative activity. If we can’t, or you don’t want to switch, then we’ll rebook or refund.

3) if it’s just a bit drizzly and not windy, we’ll still encourage you to go out and have a great time. Often, the best experiences happen in those conditions and it’s well worth a try. The weather can also brighten up very quickly.

4) Talk to us. If we think it’s safe, but you think it would be an unpleasant and unhappy experience, then we can rebook you to another day/time.

Does that sound good?

Covid Update 18 July 2021

Like many others, we can’t wait for this whole situation to be over and for life to return to normal.

Now that the government has given us more responsibility in deciding what precautions to take, we have many things to consider. First and foremost – the safety of our staff and customers is our top priority. We also have to consider the possibility of staff having to isolate and what would happen if multiple staff have to isolate at once. Then there’s the fact that it’s the summer holidays and our business relies on this 6 week window to bolster the rest of the year, especially after long lockdowns. Having to close for a few weeks due to staff isolation would be a disaster.

Taking all that into consideration, we’ve made the decision to continue with the precautions in place at the moment. We therefore ask that you continue to socially distance and wear a mask in the buildings, unless you are exempt – it’s just while you go to the loo and order food or drinks. We are aware that many people won’t be carrying masks anymore so we will have them available for your use. Our extra cleaning will also continue and our staff will continue to take precautions.

We know that many of you are fed up of the rules. We are too. So we’d like to say a huge thank you for taking these precautions to help us.

Looking for a mooring for this summer?

We were fully booked for the season, but 2 customers have decided to sell their boats and we now have 2 spaces available.

One is on the south side of the south jetty on a to -fro mooring. It is suitable for boats from 17-20ft long, ideally with a draft of no more than 2.5ft. (this is a summer only space)

The second is on a swinging mooring. It is suitable for boats of 17 – 30ft, and we recommend a draught of no more than 3ft. (This space can be for summer only or year round)

Price, depends on when you plan to be here and the length of your boat.
